Inspiring Books for 3 to 7 Year Olds

Inspiring Books for 3 to 7 Year Olds 4th September 2020   Every year our kids head back to school, feeling fresh and energized for their new year.  But this year is somewhat different. It’s been a tough few months for most of us and as parents we are probably...

Events and visits

We regularly host events, book launches and signings in partnership with organisations across the UK. Since 2015, we’ve launched books with British Army, NHS England and London Fire Brigade. We also have held multiple book signings, interacting with our amazing readers and sharing the stories of Butterfly Books across the world.

Check out some of our events and visits in the galleries below.

My Mummy is a Firefighter – Book Launch – London Fire Brigade

In March 2020, our founders and authors, Jason Bryan and Kerrine Bryan were at the launch event for My Mummy is a Firefighter, as Soho Fire Station in Central London.

This is the 7th book in our series and so much fun was had by all who attended. Including Firefighters from various Fire Stations and children from a local school!

My Daddy is a Nurse – Book Tour – University of Birmingham

On the 22nd January 2020, Jason Bryan attended Percy Shurmer School in Birmingham for the launch of My Daddy Is A Nurse, with Chief Nursing Officer Ruth May and Nursing Now England.

It was a successful event and fun was had by all, learning about the important work that nurses do as well as the range of roles and tasks within the profession.

Nursing Now England has collaborated with us to produce this latest book that aims to tackle misconceptions about men’s role in nursing.  My Daddy Is A Nurse is the first book within the Butterfly Books series that showcases men working within a ‘traditionally’ female-centric profession.

Lighting up Harlem – NYC

For the second year in 2019, author Kerrine Bryan volunteered with Behind the Book, for a summer camp based on “My Mummy is an Engineer”. Pupils at a school in Harlem spent their summer learning about various concepts within the book, which included robot building, museum visits and a visit from the author (Kerrine) who did a reading and a lamp building workshop, courtesy of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

WaR: Wizards and Robots | A conversation with will.i.am and Brian David Johnson

On 7th February 2018 our authors and founders Jason Bryan and Kerrine Bryan attended a conversation with will.i.am and Brian David Johnson at the IET Savoy Place, London.

It was a wonderful evening hosted by award winning (not to mention trendy) engineer Yewande Akinola.

The audience of mainly families with young children heard all about their new book Wizards and Robots, as well as the future of tech and why engineering is such a great profession to consider.

Brian David Johnson certainly got the audience giggling with his description of farting robots!

Fundraiser and Launch Event

Launch event to celebrate the start up of Butterfly Books Limited, the publication of their first book ‘My Mummy is an Engineer’ and the upcoming publication of their second book ‘My Mummy is a Plumber’.
